The Taster Module finished with a performance workshop for first year music class. Here is the programme
Concert 2 Stringschool
at Cashel Community College
1 We start with a simple pizzicato on
lowest string G The backing track
features bass stringed instruments in a piece by Italian baroque composer ,
Vivaldi . Pizzicato is an Italian word and
means to pluck the string
2 Next piece
is another pizzicato piece . Foxtrot is a dance with 4 beats in a bar.
3 /4 The
next thing we learned was how to hold the bow. In the next two numbers we play
arco, ie with bow and we change string from D to A
5 The next
step was to learn how to place our fingers .
